Fall is right around the corner

Aug 6th 2015

September is nearing and fall is just around the corner. Depending on where you live the sights, sounds and smells of fall are wonderful and exciting. The days of Indian Summer might also sneak in which means those glorious crisp, clear nights where one can still wear shorts and a t-shirt. And oh..... football season is coming!

For most women this is anything but a Woo Hoo moment! More like . . . '"you gotta be kidding me"! However there might be some upsides to the upcoming season, even for women in the "I hate football" camp. Extra time to read? Naps? crosswords? No ... some will say "Let there be shopping". Or, "honey, if you're gonna watch the game then I'm sure you won't mind if I go shopping with some of the girls"?

The good news is that retailers throughout the U.S. are readying and steadying themselves for fall and what comes right after . . . the biggest shopping extravaganza of the year. And as you already know, some gifts are so rare and special they can ONLY be found online and purchased in advance. Instead of actually going shopping, why not shop together at home? Why not cozy up to your computer, get your wi-fi rolling and set up a room where you and your gal pals can search for extra special gifts you just can't find in stores! Have them bring some snacks, gather all the essentials and start your new shopping club? Each week you might indicate shopping for a new category or topic.
So, when you husband starts talking about his favorite football team and having the guys over to watch the game and have a few beers and you're in the "I hate football" or "football is a waste of time" camps . . . fear not. This year start your own shopping club. Gather your girls, get your computers or I-pads ready and begin looking for those special, personal or personalized gifts one can only find online. Shop with attitude and conviction. Heck, make your own jerseys, call yourselves the "Shoptitudes" and let the games begin. Who said two couldn't play at this game?
